<image:title>C.C.C. - Cameron Jay is a true crime junkie whose fascination with the subject comes from the heart- crime is personal. Having a second cousin who was murdered and a best friend killed at the hands of a distracted driver, Cameron believes in advocating for justice and seeking answers for all. Cameron obtained his Bachelor of Science in Criminology from the University of West Georgia in May of 2024. In 2023, with the Baker family, Athens-area legislators, the Coleman Family, and Scot Turner of Eternal Vigilance Action, Cameron worked to write and pass the Coleman-Baker Act, which established and funded the cold case unit at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. After 23 years, an arrest was made in Tara Baker’s case under the provisions of The Coleman-Baker Act, the first to be solved by the newly formed cold case unit. Tara Baker’s life and the investigation into her violent murder were the subject of Season 1 of Classic City Crime.</image:title>

<image:caption>Virginia Baker lost her daughter Tara Louise Baker on January 19, 2001 when she was brutally murdered in her east Athens Georgia home. 20 years later, her mother still fights and hopes for new leads and continued answers in her daughter’s unsolved homicide. Virginia became a key component of our podcast’s storytelling journey- helping listeners to understand not only who Tara was as a daughter and a person, but she also helped us to try and grasp the void Tara’s death left in the lives of so many.</image:caption>

But, T.K. is able to get back at John when he becomes the lease holder on the Station— and chooses to evict John Mooney and Somebody’s Pizza. It was this decision coupled with the beer war that led John Mooney to hire Elmo Florence (right) to kill T.K. Harty. <image:title>The Murder of T.K. Harty - featuring Bob Gentile (Far Right)</image:title>
<image:caption>In Part 6, Bob Gentile takes us back to the Georgian Hotel in Downtown Athens, 1977. The space is now a ballroom complete for weddings and fine social affairs, but then it housed Gentile, Arva Weinstein, and Rick Peckham’s restaurant, “Friends.” Friends is a place where T.K. Harty and other bar/restaurant owners would go after their late night tips to “shoot the shit”, let off some steam, and talk about life in the service industry in Athens. At some point, Harty began confiding in Gentile— telling him, “they’re going to kill me.” Who was they? Did it include John Mooney? Listen to Part 6 below to find out.</image:caption>
